Vishwakarma Pooja & Havan is a traditional Hindu ceremony dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, revered as the divine architect, craftsman, and creator of celestial structures and tools. The puja is commonly performed in factories, workshops, offices, commercial establishments, and homes to express gratitude for tools, machinery, equipment, and skilled work. The ceremony may include deity worship, tool and machinery puja, mantra chanting, and a sacred havan according to the selected ritual format.
Lord Vishwakarma is revered in Hindu tradition as the divine architect, master craftsman, and creator associated with extraordinary celestial structures and instruments. Vishwakarma Pooja is an occasion to honour craftsmanship, technical knowledge, creativity, and the tools through which people carry out their work.
The puja is observed by artisans, engineers, mechanics, factory workers, builders, technicians, business owners, and many others whose livelihoods depend on tools, machines, and technical skills. It is commonly performed in workshops, factories, offices, garages, and commercial premises. In many regions, Vishwakarma Puja is associated with Kanya Sankranti, while observance dates and customs vary by region and community.
1. Preparation and Sankalp: The designated puja area is cleaned and arranged with an image or idol of Lord Vishwakarma. Flowers, a diya, incense, and other customary offerings are prepared. The pandit begins with a sankalp according to the occasion and the family's or establishment's tradition.
2. Ganesh Vandana: Prayers may be offered to Lord Ganesha to mark an auspicious beginning to the ceremony.
3. Lord Vishwakarma Worship: Lord Vishwakarma is worshipped with flowers, akshat, sandalwood paste, incense, a diya, and suitable bhog. The pandit may recite traditional prayers and mantras seeking blessings for skill, diligence, and responsible work.
4. Tools and Machinery Puja: Tools, work equipment, and machinery may be respectfully included in the worship. The ceremony offers an opportunity to acknowledge the importance of these resources and the people who operate them. Equipment should be switched off and handled according to workplace safety procedures; no ritual should interfere with machine guards or safety systems.
5. Havan and Mantra Ahuti: A havan kund is prepared in an approved, well-ventilated location. The pandit performs the agreed fire ritual, reciting appropriate mantras and offering havan samagri into the sacred fire. The sequence and duration depend on the selected puja format and the venue's safety requirements.
6. Purnahuti and Aarti: The havan is concluded with purnahuti according to the ritual tradition, followed by aarti and prayers to Lord Vishwakarma. Prasad may be distributed among employees, family members, or attendees.
Lord Vishwakarma Mantra:
ॐ श्री विश्वकर्मणे नमः।
Ganesh Mantra:
ॐ गं गणपतये नमः।
The pandit may also recite additional traditional prayers and havan mantras according to the chosen ceremony. The precise mantra sequence should be confirmed when booking.
Factory owners, workshop managers, engineers, artisans, mechanics, contractors, builders, technicians, shopkeepers, office administrators, and families can arrange this puja. It may be performed at a business premises, workshop, factory, office, or home, depending on the space and the ritual requirements.
