Kundali Graha Dosh Nivaran Puja

Kundali Graha Dosh Nivaran Puja is a traditional Hindu religious ceremony associated with planetary worship and Graha Shanti. In Vedic astrology, a Kundali or birth chart is interpreted using the positions of the Navagraha—the nine planetary deities—and their relationships within the chart.

Depending on the astrological interpretation, a person may be advised to perform worship associated with one or more Grahas. This puja provides a coordinated ritual arrangement for traditional prayers, mantra recitation and offerings dedicated to the relevant planetary deities.

The exact procedure should be determined according to the intended service, the Pandit's tradition and any prior Kundali assessment.

Understanding Graha Dosh in a Kundali

In traditional Vedic astrology, the term Graha Dosh is used for planetary placements or combinations interpreted as challenging or unfavourable within a birth chart. Different astrological schools may interpret these combinations differently.

Depending on the assessment, the recommended religious observance may involve one Graha or multiple Grahas. Common examples of planetary worship include:

• Surya Dev: Traditional Sun worship and Surya Graha Shanti.
• Chandra Dev: Moon worship and Chandra Graha Shanti.
• Mangal Dev: Mars worship and Mangal Dosh Nivaran.
• Budh Dev: Mercury worship and Budh Graha Shanti.
• Brihaspati Dev (Guru): Jupiter worship and Guru Graha Shanti.
• Shukra Dev: Venus worship and Shukra Graha Shanti.
• Shani Dev: Saturn worship and Shani Shanti.
• Rahu: Traditional Rahu Shanti and related prayers.
• Ketu: Traditional Ketu Shanti and related prayers.

Not every ceremony includes worship of all nine Grahas. The specific deities and rituals depend on the agreed puja arrangement.

Traditional Significance of Graha Shanti

Navagraha worship holds an important place in Hindu religious traditions. Devotees offer prayers to the planetary deities through prescribed mantras, offerings and devotional rituals.

Kundali Graha Dosh Nivaran Puja is performed as a traditional form of worship for those who wish to observe Graha Shanti according to their astrological or spiritual beliefs. The puja can be arranged for a specific planetary concern or for more than one Graha, provided the included rituals are clearly defined.

What the Ritual May Include

The actual procedure depends on the Grahas being worshipped and the selected service package. Traditional rituals may include:

• Kundali-Based Sankalp: Sankalp according to the devotee's details and the purpose of the puja.
• Ganesh Vandana: Preliminary prayers to Lord Ganesha.
• Navagraha Avahan: Invocation of the relevant planetary deities.
• Specific Graha Pujan: Worship of the Graha Devatas identified for the ceremony.
• Graha Mantra Jaap: Recitation of the prescribed planetary mantras.
• Traditional Offerings: Flowers, fruits, grains, colours or other offerings according to the relevant Graha.
• Graha Shanti Prarthana: Traditional prayers dedicated to the planetary deities.
• Havan: Fire ritual with prescribed mantras and offerings, if included.
• Aarti and Prarthana: Concluding worship and devotional prayers.
