Nadi Dosh Puja

Nadi Dosh Nivaran Puja is a traditional Hindu religious ceremony associated with Nadi Dosha in Vedic Kundali matching. In the Ashtakoota Guna Milan system, Nadi is one of the eight factors traditionally considered when comparing the birth charts of two prospective marriage partners.

Nadi Dosha is traditionally identified when both individuals have the same Nadi classification. Some families consult a knowledgeable astrologer to understand the matching results and whether a traditional Shanti Puja is appropriate.

The ceremony may include prayers, mantra recitation and offerings according to the family's religious customs and the Pandit's prescribed procedure.

Understanding Nadi Dosha in Kundali Matching

In traditional Ashtakoota Guna Milan, Nadi is associated with one of three classifications:

• Adi Nadi
• Madhya Nadi
• Antya Nadi

When both prospective partners have the same Nadi, traditional matching systems may identify Nadi Dosha. However, interpretations and customary exceptions can vary between astrological traditions. The complete Kundali matching assessment may consider other factors rather than relying on Nadi alone.

Traditional Significance of Nadi Dosh Shanti

Some Hindu traditions prescribe religious observances for Nadi Dosha after an astrologer's assessment. Depending on the ritual tradition, worship may include prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, who are revered as a divine couple, along with prescribed mantras and Havan.

The purpose of the ceremony is to observe a traditional religious remedy according to the devotee's beliefs. The exact ritual should be confirmed with the performing Pandit before booking.

What the Ritual May Include

The exact procedure may vary according to the Pandit's tradition and the selected service package. It may include:

• Sankalp: A devotional resolution for the purpose of the puja.
• Ganesh Vandana: Preliminary prayers to Lord Ganesha.
• Shiva-Parvati Puja: Traditional worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
• Nadi Dosh Shanti Prarthana: Prayers associated with the traditional Nadi Dosha remedy.
• Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra Jaap: Recitation of the mantra if prescribed for the ceremony.
• Traditional Offerings: Flowers, fruits, sacred water and other puja samagri.
• Havan: A fire ritual with prescribed mantras and offerings, if included.
• Aarti and Prarthana: Concluding prayers and devotional worship.

Who May Consider This Puja?

This traditional puja may be considered by individuals or families who:

• Have received a Kundali matching report identifying Nadi Dosha.
• Have consulted an astrologer about traditional Nadi Dosh Shanti practices.
• Wish to perform a religious ceremony before or after marriage according to family customs.
• Prefer Pandit-guided Shiva-Parvati worship and traditional mantra recitation.
• Wish to observe traditional religious practices associated with marriage Kundali matching.

Important Guidance for Families

Nadi Dosha is an astrological concept, not a scientific diagnosis or a guaranteed prediction about married life or health. Families should consider the overall compatibility assessment, the wishes of both partners and practical relationship factors rather than making a marriage decision solely on the basis of one astrological factor.
